Michael Jackson News

This is itAll 50 shows in Michael Jackson’s comeback series of concerts in London sold out in five hours, Reuters reported on Friday. Mr. Jackson, whose last concert tour was 12 years ago, initially committed to 10 shows at London’s O2 Arena but added another 40 that will extend the run to Feb. 24, 2010. When Jackson was told, he started crying, Sky News reported. Despite that, promoter AEG Live is having trouble lining up an insurer to cover a seven-month run by the famously frail pop star, London's Daily Telegraph reported Saturday. AEG has lined up insurance for the first 10 dates, but may be forced to self-insure the rest of the performances at the O2 arena between July and February.  Chief executive Randy Phillips said he isn't worried. "The insurance brokers sent doctors and they spend five hours with him, taking blood tests. He's a vegetarian, he's in great shape," he said. "We would be prepared to self-insure to make up the dates. It's a risk we're willing to take to bring the King of Pop to his fans."

Michael JacksonAccording to still unconfirmed sources, a brand new Michael Jackson single, followed by a studio album, is going to be released in the next months. Michael has been writing hundreds of songs after the 2001 Invincible album, working with several pop icons. More information will be released soon.

Michael Jackson Michael Jackson didn't have much to say when he finally hit the stage at the O2 Arena this afternoon. The press conference for his big comeback was scheduled for 4pm, but went off at 5:42pm. The reason given: Jackson's van was stuck in traffic. A source close to him told: "Michael’s doing it for his kids. He wants them to see, at least once, what he did for a living." And so maybe he shall if everything goes mostly as planned. Jackson’s old musical director Kenny Ortega has already been contacted to direct the show.

But still, there may be trouble ahead. According to some sources Raymone Bain, Jackson’s former general manager and publicist, is thrilled that Jackson is heading back to the stage. But Bain, like so many former Jackson advisers, may soon make a legal claim against the former pop star. Bain’s friends say that she was the architect of the deal with AEG Live back when it first surfaced in 2007. Jackson turned it down after much negotiation back and forth. Now, they say, Jackson may not be aware that his new adviser, one Tohme Tohme, re-started Bain’s original plan...

Michael Jackson Michael Jackson comeback rumors pop up monthly like clockwork, but the buzz on today’s stories on possible MJ concerts is a bit louder than usual. Billboard is reporting that Jackson may appear at a news conference at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday, March 5th, to announce a run of shows there. Guess those other Jackson rumors about the pop star’s impending death were a little premature. From what we can gather, the Jacko rumors started when paparazzi put a video camera in front of designer Christian Audigier, who was filmed earlier in the night walking with Jackson. The designer opened up about the fact he had just designed an outfit for Jackson. “He is going on tour in July, so he’s going to be… for three months, maybe more, and it’s going to be a big comeback,” Audigier told Hollywood.tv. “He’s traveling to U.K., London, on Monday. He’s going to be, on Thursday, doing the press conference…” Audigier is one of a small number of people who can draw Jackson out into public; MJ was photographed at the Ed Hardy boss’ 50th birthday party last May.
