We are co-operating with Stuart Backerman and MJFC to do a follow up interview.

All of you who want to ask Stuart questions regarding the past of Michael, the period when he was working with him, or any other curiosity, please send your requests urgently to MJPortal. Dead-line to send any enquiry is Thursday, the 4th of September.

Use the Contact button in the top menu.

Stuart Backerman and MJPortalSay the name Stuart Backerman in certain circles and most people will probably tell you that he is the guy that acted as Michael Jackson's mouthpiece during one of the most turbulant times in his life. While it is true that Mr. Backerman did serve as Michael's spokesperson and media relations representative, that fact barely scratches the surface of this truly fascinating, "Renaissance Man."

Stuart Backerman is an honors graduate of the State University of New York. He also attended the University of British Columbia's Graduate School of Urban Planning and received his Masters Degree. He is a professional city planner; an award-winning theatrical producer; a media relations expert; and a national television correspondent who, for two seasons, served as Special Correspondent and frequent guest for 'Entertainment Tonight', one of the most popular television network magazines.

During his time working as Michael Jackson's spokesperson, Mr. Backerman developed a very friendly working relationship with Mr. Jackson's many fan clubs. Finally, here was a person we all felt that we could talk to and our feelings and concerns would be properly handled and not ignored.

Michael Jackson 50Today Michael Jackson is 50.

The 50 most important years in the history of Pop music. He has devoted more than a half of this period to compose great music and entertain millions of people all over the world with fantastic shows that stirred up incredible emotions in those who were present.

The other part of this time, his private life, has been constantly harassed by the morbid interest of newspapers, TV networks, and greedy people who tried to blacken his reputation only to make money.

Who doesn’t know MJ? With 200 millions records sold, an amount of records never equalled by any other singer, memorable videos and great charity messages, MJ is and will be the “King of Pop” forever, whatever he decides to do in the future.

Seven endless years have elapsed since the issue of Michael’s latest album, and despite promises and news about a supposed “return” of Jackson to the world of music, we are not very optimistic...

The team that ought to care about the connection with the fansclubs, all those who have supported him day after day during the period of the trial, have disappeared. Michael, on his side, is spending much of his time choosing odd costumes to move on the red carpet of the music environment: pyjamas, wheelchairs, scarfs and masks, women’s dresses...

This long silence might be the sign of something special, but MJPortal, which has always supported MJ during the worst moments of his career, wishes something more! Maybe a return to the past would be the best thing. Stuart Backerman, the period of HIStory, a lot of videos and technological concerts would surely be the key to solve the Jackson case. In spite of  everything... In spite of all the disillusions...

We want to wish you “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”

Michael Jackson bulbous noseIn the last few hours, news and pictures regarding the alleged new nose of the "King of Pop" have been circulating in the net. According to many tabloids, in fact, Jackson presented himself a new bulbous nose as a gift for his 50th birthday. Thanks to Holliwood.tv the truth has soon emerged: one of the many impersonators of Michael mocked the photographer and the paparazzi in front of a famous restaurant in L.A., the Madeo. Indeed, the man photographed is NOT Michael Jackson, as you can see from the following video.

Sony BMG Music Entertainment is proud to celebrate Michael's amazing career, with over 200 Million sales worldwide and over four million in Australia. What better way to celebrate this than with a new King Of Pop greatest hits package that uniquely has been voted for by his Australian fans.

Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' has been voted the greatest dance record of all time. The 1983 single pipped Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' and James Brown's 'Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine' into second and third place respectively. BBC Radio 2 listeners were invited to vote for their favourite song from a shortlist of 20 tracks selected by a panel of experts including Norman Jay, Trevor Nelson and Danny Rampling.

Zoe Ball - who unveiled the list on a three-part radio programme, 'The Greatest Dance Records Of All Time' - said: "I'm delighted that 'Billie Jean' has been voted the greatest dance record ever made. This is Jackson at his best. "This track is way up there for me - Jacko's rendition of it at the Motown 25th anniversary show has got to be one of the great live performances of all time. "I can remember hearing this at the Boutique club night in Brighton and the place would go crazy. The bassline is awesome, the production is killer. It's just perfect." Written by Jackson and co-produced by Quincy Jones, 'Billie Jean' went to the top of the UK charts in 1983 and is taken from 'Thriller', one of the biggest-selling albums of all time. The track won two Grammy awards in 1984, for Best Male R'n'B Vocal Performance and Best New Rhythm and Blues song.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson is back in the studio and is working on his new album with RedOne and Akon. The popstar is said to be so determined about his comeback that he has even banned his kids from the studio to avoid any distractions. According to various and reliable sources, the 49-year-old singer will be working with the duo at the Palms recording studio in Las Vegas. “Michael is producing the album himself and then will sell it to a record company when he’s finished, the Daily Telegraph quoted a source. “Michael has banned his kids from the recording studio. He realises this is very important and doesn’t want any distractions,” said the source.

Mihcael Jackson HIStory eraPop star Michael Jackson is no longer named as a defendant in a lawsuit that alleges intentional infliction of emotional and mental distress by Jackson, Marian Medical Center and Catholic Healthcare West. The suit was filed by the family of a Santa Maria woman who died at the hospital in February 2005.

Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville granted a demurrer Tuesday that was filed by Jackson's attorney, Timothy Gorry. Demurrers were likewise filed by the attorney for the hospital, Hugh Spackman, but Melville ordered that allegations will remain against the hospital. Whether the hospital still faced all charges couldn't be immediately confirmed.

For those of you who have missed this incredible commercial with Naomi Campbell dancing on the rythm of Michael Jackson's Thriller...

Lately, it seems you can't avoid hearing the familiar opening chords of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on TV, on the radios, on iTunes.

But it's not the '80s anymore - it's 2008 - and pop music's biggest-selling album of all time is back in the spotlight this year as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of a cultural icon.

No longer is Michael Jackson the man relevant, but his music as it was ten years ago.

In the past two months, consider these places where "Thriller" has been referenced:

  • The music video for "Thriller" was the No. 5 most popular music video on iTunes last week.
  • MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew" dedicated an entire episode to Jackson's videos from the "Thriller" album.
  • One of the more memorable Super Bowl commercials this year was the SoBe ad where lizards dance to "Thriller" with Naomi Campbell.
  • An XM radio station was created in March devoted solely to the "Thriller" album.
  • Jackson's sister Janet couldn't avoid questions about the monumental album while trying to promote her latest effort on "Larry King Live" last month.
  • Rapper Rick Ross released "Trilla" in March, inspired by Jackson's album

Michael Jackson’s Thriller 25 is #1 on Top Catalog Albums for the seventh straight week. Its sales of 26,000 would have placed it #15 on the main chart if older catalog albums were allowed to compete there. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary, Michael!
