Tuesday, 11 October 2005 00:55

Saturday Oct 8 2005: Michael Jackson was mobbed by fans yesterday as he came out of hiding to make his first public appearance in the UK since he was cleared of child molestation charges.

Jackson was among the audience for the musical Billy Elliot in the London's Victoria Palace theatre in the West End, sitting at the back in the stalls with his children  Prince Michael Jr, Prince Michael II (nicknamed Blanket) and Paris-Michael. During the interval he mingled with members of the audience, chatting and signing autographs.

But chaotic scenes followed as Jackson left the theatre and greeted screaming fans. He shook hands and gave his typical wave and victory sign. But many broke through a barrier to surround his waiting blue people-carrier to get close to their idol. Officers had to fend them off so Jackson could get away.

Sunday Oct 9 2005: Pop legend Michael Jackson pleased the tourists in London for the second day running and caused pandemonium at Madame Tussaud's on Sunday evening.

The King of Pop was mobbed by fans at the world-famous attraction when he arrived with his three children.

Minders carried the star's young family from a van with blacked out windows. Jackson, 47, wearing a black suit, matching shirt and dark glasses, then walked through a crowd of fans, shielding his eyes from camera flashes, and into the building.

Large numbers of staff from Madame Tussaud's were waiting inside the attraction to greet the singer.
