Michael Jackson We Are The World - 25 for Haiti

Twenty-five years after the all-star recording of "We Are the World" became a signature moment in celebrity altruism and pop-music history, a number of today's biggest stars gathered on Monday night to record "We Are the World — 25 for Haiti," the classic 1985 charity single re-imagined as a benefit for earthquake relief.

Though song co-writer Michael Jackson passed away last summer, his presence was most definitely felt in the studio, where fellow co-writer Lionel Richie and producer Quincy Jones had assembled more than 80 singers, rappers and actors for the new version. To make sure that listeners feel his presence too, Janet Jackson will be representing her brother in the new recording. "She's doing Michael's part in the middle the same part Michael did," Jones told the press. "She's representing Michael."

Many of those involved on Monday said MJ's part in the original will always remain their favorite. "My favorite part of the song — it would be the bridge [when Michael comes in]," said Mya, who hinted that Jackson's voice might make it onto this version too. "I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to share. ... We do hope [to have Michael's voice on the track]."

Michael Jackson Grammy TributeThe Grammy Awards is an annual event established in 1958 presented by the National Academy of Recording Art and Science for outstanding achievements in the music industry.

This year’s 52nd edition was a tribute to Michael Jackson. The tribute was with a 3D mini movie originally designed for his “This Is It” tour which was presented to the audience, with the message saving the planet. The hit “Earth Song” joined Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson. Jackson's children Prince Michael and Paris were the show’s finale when they accepted the Lifetime Achievement Grammy in the honor of their father.

Lionel Richie also gave a heartfelt intro to the 3D tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson—the unprecedented production number that had some audience members (including Beyoncé, Rihanna and Will.i.am) and TV audiences wearing their 3D glasses to watch the short film that accompanied Jackson’s “Earth Song.”

After the tribute, Jackson’s two kids, Prince and Paris (both dressed with armbands and red stripes on their pants reminiscent of one of Jackson’s famous looks), took the stage to accept their father's Lifetime Achievement Award.

As Prince nervously but commandingly took the microphone, and with Paris’ own simple follow-up statement, “Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was gonna perform this year… We love you daddy,” the Staples Center audience was on its feet, tears filling their eyes.

Legend Music Awards, Jam Music Production and MJPortal are the co-organizers of the first ever "MICHAEL JACKSON EUROPEAN CONVENTION", a bright new idea of the organizers to give Michael Jackson fans the possibilty of meeting up and discussing various aspects of the artist's life and career from all possible standpoints.

On June 25th 2009 in the city of Los Angeles the whole world was shocked by the news of the death of this great artist. What the world does not know is what an incredible human being he was and how many altruistic gestures he made and initiated in his lifetime. So much has been written and said about Michael Jackson in the past few months that it seems the world is ackowledging his existence only becasue of his untimely death.

Despite the infinite number of tributes offered in his memory, what seems to be the most obvious and deafening silence is the almost complete absence in the world wide media of any reference to the deepest and most profound side of this artist which he himself tried his best to hide with his usual reserve, keeping it as private as possible.

Talking about this side of Michael Jackson and making people aware of the "other" Michael is the continuing theme that inspires the work of the Legend Music Awards - Jam Music Production Int. and MJPortal, the website dedicated to Michael Jackson.

This meeting will be the first of a series of yearly appointments with the sole purpose of completely "rehabilitating" the human being, before the artist, who has only too often been marred by vicious gossip with no real foundation to support that gossip.

After a few days of phone calls and emails, we can confirm you that Brian Oxman, one of the lawyers who cracked the Michael Jackson molestation case in 2005, and Kathryn Milofsky, the American radio /tv producer reporter specialising in news arts and entertainment, will join us at the Michael Jackson European Convention.

Brian Oxman will do a 2 hour audio visual presentation, and will give us his perspective on his unique and special relationship with Michael Jackson. He represented Michael in the 2005 trial. It was Brian who cracked the case, and got Janet Arvizo prosecuted for welfare fraud.

He will give you the scoop on the battle over the will, and more importantly how the family feel, and why they are hell bent on seeking justice, to establish how and why Michael died, and that justice be served.
The most significant event of 2009 can’t be anything but Michael Jackson’s shocking death. We’ve had plenty of time to get used to the fact that he’s gone and contemplate the value of his contributions to music, style, and pop culture, and Spike Lee wraps it all up for us with the video for “This Is It.” In a clip released over the Christmas holiday, director Spike Lee paid tribute to Michael Jackson's legendary career in the official video for the King of Pop's posthumous single, "This Is It." The emotional video intersperses iconic images of the late pop singer with footage shot in Jackson's hometown of Gary, Indiana, and fan tributes following his death June 25.

Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician at the center of the homicide investigation into singer Michael Jackson's death, has resumed his practice. Murray returned home to Houston, Texas, and was treating patients at the Armstrong Clinic where he practiced medicine before leaving to become Jackson's personal physician in April.

"I'm taking my life back step by step, and I wanted to come home and this is my home," he told congregants Sunday at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in northwest Houston. NEW YORK - Michael Jackson's famous white glove sold for $350,000 at a memorabilia auction on Saturday, soaring far past pre-sale estimates, while a black jacket he wore during a 1989 world tour fetched $225,000. The Jackson memorabilia was the highlight of an auction of hundreds of rock'n'roll items, including many not associated with the "King of Pop," who died in June.

Darren Julien, CEO of Julien's Auctions, which ran the auction, called the glove "the Holy Grail of Michael Jackson," and many expected it to sell for far more than its pre-sale estimate of about $50,000. With the added commission, the final price excluding taxes, ran to some $420,000.

The buyer was Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma.
Evan Chandler, the father to the boy that Michael Jackson was once accused of sexually molesting, was found dead in his Jersey City apartment on November 5th.

Chandler's death has been ruled a suicide as he was found with a gun on his body and he had a single bullet wound to the head. He was 65 years old.

Chandler charged Jackson with the molestation of his then 13-year-old son in the early '90s, but that case never went to trial and they reached a multi-million-dollar civil settlement.

Jordan Chandler, the boy thought to be supposedly molested, confessed some months ago: "Now for the first time I can’t bare to lie anymore. Michael Jackson didn’t do anything to me, all was my father lies to escape from being poor.”
